This week we are learning about inferring while we read. Inferring is reading between the lines and using our prior knowledge to help us understand what authors are trying to tell us.

We found some examples of this in a book we are reading called 'James and the Giant Peach' by Roald Dahl. What do you think Roald Dahl meant when he wrote:

1. "Stop talking about that peach!" screeched Aunt Spiker. "You're making my mouth water!"
 
2. Finally, Aunt Sponge spoke, breaking the silence.
